Tyler Bourns has been working professionally since the age
of seventeen. The summer of that year he produced and directed a no-budget
feature film that went on to win awards at both the Indie Gathering as well as
the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. Later that year, himself and his longtime video partner won the Nevada State Video Skills USA Competition, and then took a Silver at the National Competition. Skills USA is one of the biggest student occupational competitions in the country. That summer, after working on numerous
television pilots as a director of photography and editor, he directed a one-hour
television special entitled “A Glimpse of
Heaven and a Taste of Hell.” It won
a Silver Remi award at WorldFest-Houston, along with a Bronze Telly Award. It aired on PBS in July 08’. Since then he has moved to Burbank,
California, where he has worked on over ninety professional productions in a myriad of capacities. As a Teleprompter
operator he was worked on such productions as VH1’s “I Love Money,” David Fincher’s “Stand
up to Cancer” PSA featurin g Sidney Poitier, “Invitation to the Dance” featuring Jane Seymour, and many others. As Gaffer, a few of the projects he has worked
on include Julia Roberts’ introduction to the award-winning documentary “Darius Goes West,” and the Citizen
United Documentaries “Reagan” and “Hype - The Obama Effect.” As a Director of Photography he recently completed work on the TV sitcom
pilot “Two for Tee,” and a music video for Hope Wait's single "I'll be Satisfied," just
to name a few. He currently works for McNulty-Nielsen Productions in North Hollywood and H & A Productions in Northern Nevada; his current directing projects include a feature
length documentary entitled Cyber Singles: A Dating Odyssey, as well as an educational music video "Yes We Can."
